Fincher Attends Freedom Celebration, Wraps Week Long Care Package Drive for Our Troops

FROG JUMP - Stephen Fincher, conservative Republican candidate for Tennessee's Eighth Congressional District, concluded a successful week-long care package drive for our troops on Saturday by joining hundreds of neighbors at the TJ Network's 2010 West Tennessee Freedom Celebration in Jackson.
Fincher kicked off the collection drive with a neighborhood ice cream social on Memorial Day and continued to welcome donations at his Jackson headquarters throughout the week. By week's end, the campaign had collected eight large boxes of snacks, toiletries, and entertainment items for our active duty personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan. Fincher and a team of volunteers delivered the items and helped assemble care packages at the Freedom Celebration on Saturday evening.
"My grandfather was a veteran, and I could think of no better way to honor his service, and the service of all our veterans, than by giving back to our brave men and women in uniform today," Fincher said. "The overwhelming support we received for our care package drive proves that West Tennesseans haven't lost sight of what we're fighting for. In Congress, I will battle every day to ensure our troops receive the care and support they deserve."
Stephen Fincher is a lifelong farmer, businessman, and gospel singer with deep roots in Tennessee, not politics. Stephen and Lynn, his wife of 18 years, proudly raise their three children in Frog Jump.
