Fincher Kicks Off Campaign; denounces government takeover of healthcare and Medicare cuts
19 counties and 22 cities in 3 days
(Frog Jump, TN) Stephen Fincher, the conservative Republican candidate for Congress in the Eighth District, formally kicked off his campaign for Congress with a three day, 19 county bus tour from the Mississsippi River to Middle Tennessee. The sprawling Eighth District is currently represented by Congressman John Tanner, and many analysts cite Fincher as the reason for Tanner's retirement.
"My roots run deep in Tennessee, not in politics," said Fincher. "That's why I want to kick off my campaign by visiting every county in the district and listening to the people that I intend to represent. We're running the most organized and aggressive campaign that that Eighth District has ever seen, so it makes sense that I would be the first candidate to visit all 19 counties to listen to the voters directly."
Stephen Fincher is a 37-year old farmer, businessman and member of a family gospel singing ministry. Stephen and his wife of 18 years, Lynn, live in the Frog Jump community near Halls and are active in Archer's Chapel Methodist Church.
"It is especially appropriate that we take our campaign to the people the day after the Obama-Pelosi liberals rammed through a government takeover of our healthcare, a half trillion dollar tax increase and a half trillion dollars in Medicare cuts.
