3 County GOP Straw Polls, 3 Huge Victories
Fincher notches 65% in Lauderdale Co. GOP straw poll
(Jackson, TN) Winning his third consecutive county GOP straw poll Thursday night by a stunning margin, Frog Jump farmer and gospel-singer Stephen Fincher once again proved himself to be the overwhelming grassroots favorite of 8th District Republicans.
Fincher won over local GOPers with his common-sense conservative message at last night’s Lauderdale County Republican Party Fish Fry, taking 65% of the vote in a four-way field.
At the Dyer County GOP straw poll and the Madison County GOP straw poll, Fincher previously won with 78% and 66% of the vote, respectively.
Fincher released the following comment on his most recent victory:
“I am honored and humbled to be the candidate of grassroots Republicans in Dyer, Madison and Lauderdale counties – but I’m not taking anything for granted. As much as I enjoy having the support of leading conservatives on Capitol Hill who want me to join them in the battle against the president’s big-government ways, earning the trust of local Republicans throughout West and Middle Tennessee remains my first priority. Everywhere I’ve traveled so far, folks are excited to join our cause when I tell them what I plan to do in Congress: I’m running to stop the Obama-Pelosi agenda dead in its tracks; to restore a conservative vision that puts everyday people before Washington special interests; and to rein in wasteful spending and cut taxes on small businesses so we can get Tennesseans working again.”
